Br3nya has dropped a new video for her track ‘Betting On Me’. Check it out below.
The video, created by shotfocus, shows ‘Big B’ surrounded by her friends and family, including an appearance from her mum.
‘Betting On Me’ is lifted from Br3nya’s self-released 10-track debut EP, ‘Innit Innit Girl’, which dropped earlier this year and features collaborations with Tay Iwar and Moliy.
The new music video follows the Nollywood-inspired video for her single ‘Outside’, which dropped last summer and was also featured on her debut EP.
Back in 2022, the London-based British-Ghanaian artist dropped the single 'Kumasi,' following a year off, which she used to fine-tune her work. The track was then recognised by BBC Radio 1Xtra's DJ Target as a 'Target Embargo' tune, with the song’s title and theme paying homage to one of Br3nya's favourite Ghanaian cities.
DJ Mag spotlighted Br3nya in a Meet the MC feature back in 2021. In the feature and accompanying mini-documentary and freestyle, Br3nya attributed the distinctive bounce in her sound to her Ghanaian heritage.
“The bounciness and good vibe in my music comes from my Ghanaian side. I’m not doing songs fully in my language or stuff like that yet, but you can hear the influence and the vibe. It’s not direct, but you can see it’s the root of where everything came from,” she said.
