Swedish House Mafia to release ‘Lioness’ this week

The new track, which was played during Angello's recent Coachella set, is set to drop this Friday

Swedish House Mafia are set to release their long-anticipated new single, ‘Lioness’, later this week. 

The new track is scheduled to drop on Friday, 26th April, and will mark eight months since Swedish House Mafia’s last single, ‘Ray Of Solar’.

‘Lioness’ was played by Steve Angello during his recent Coachella set on Friday 12th April. Fans of have pointed out that different versions of this track have been floating around in the Swedish trio's sets for some time, though the mix Angello played has seemingly never been played out before. You can watch a clip below.

The announcement was made by the trio via social media over the weekend. They shared the news with fans along with a message: "We always believed your feminine side is your strongest side."

The track is expected to feature on the group's upcoming album, the follow-up to their studio debut 'Paradise Again', which they have been teasing over the past year. Initially expected to have arrived by the end of last summer, the album was subsequently been delayed.

Back in September, Swedish House Mafia unveiled the track 'Not Yesterday' at Ultra Japan, featuring vocals from 070 Shake, which is expected to be included on the forthcoming album.

The group has also recently announced a club residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza for this summer. They will take the stage at the iconic venue on 21st July and continue to perform every Sunday until August 25th, totalling six shows in all.
