Moog to discontinue Minimoog Voyager XL synth

Bad news for Voyager fans...

Moog have announced they're discontinuing their Minimoog Voyager XL synth this week, bringing an end to the Voyager line as a whole.

The Voyager XL was launched seven years ago to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Minimoog, whilst the original Voyager was the last synthesizer to be fully designed by the company’s founder and namesake, Bob Moog, before his death in 2005.

The axing of the Voyager XL will signal the end of the line for the Voyager models, which also included the Voyager RME and Voyager Old School.

“As we bid a bittersweet farewell to the Minimoog Voyager XL, we keep the spirit of its circuits front of mind as we design the instruments in our future, acknowledging that the XL is the last of the Voyager family but not the last of its legacy,” the brand said via a press release.

During its lifetime, the Voyager XL was a favourite of acts including Moby, Brian Eno and Kanye West, and can still be purchased from selected dealers while stocks last.
