Moog’s Animoog iOS synth is now available on Apple Vision Pro

Users can don the headset and experience immersive sound

Moog has released a new version of its popular iOS synth, Animoog Galaxy, for the Apple Vision Pro VR headset.

The synth, which features a 3D plane of X, Y and Z axes parameters, can be experienced using the new Apple headset, which was released last week. Users can affect the sound by navigating through 120 presets and tweaking parameters using hand gestures. There is also a new smart sequencer that keeps everything in key while you experiment.

The same Anisotropic Synth Engine (ASE) that powers the original app is under the hood here too, and there’s an expansive FX section featuring the usual delays and reverbs plus drive, unison, bitcrush, filters and other modulators. If you’re not keen on waving your hands around, Animoog Galaxy also supports traditional MIDI inputs, so you can hook up your favourite MIDI keyboard for the best of both worlds.

Moog’s Animoog Galaxy costs $29 and is available now. You can find out more on Moog’s website.

The Animoog Galaxy isn’t the first VR music production tool. Korg launched its own last year, designed for Meta’s Oculus Quest.
