Karen Nyame KG has shared her latest EP, ‘RED’, on her newly launched label, Rhythm in the City. Check it out below.

Out today, the three-tracker features the recent singles ‘Nightryde’ and ‘P.L.L (Pretty Little Liar)’, along with a previously unheard track, ‘Wet’. It follows the British-Ghanaian DJ and producer’s sold-out debut headline club show at Peckham Audio last month, and marks the first extended release on her Rhythm in the City (RITC) imprint.

Launched in September, the label is described as an extension of KG’s party series of the same name. “The RITC sound is unconventionally rhythmic, a hub for genre-bending, Afro-Electronic music,” she shared. “The label is all about breaking conventions and formulas in electronic dance music.”

Speaking on the new EP, she added: “‘Wet’ is naughty. Pretty much what it says on the tin, the allure of your love interest consuming you so much that it excites you, despite them being dangerous! It’s a sweet and seductive uptempo Afro groove, sampling my previous work ‘Sensei’, layered with Ghanaian Highlife riffs supplied by Obe360.”

Last September, the artist unveiled a new single, ‘Taboo’, via Black Acre Records, a “sensual offering” that blends elements of amapiano, Afro house and Afrobeat, and features her own vocals and signature percussion.

Karen Nyame, aka KG, also brought classic and contemporary UK funky, Amapiano edits and jazzy club grooves together for her 2021 Selections, which you can revisit here.
