Ransom Note Records has released a new compilation in aid of Moroccan earthquake relief, ‘Tadamoun’. Listen and find out more below.

Compiled in collaboration with Geneva-based DJ and producer Reda Saiarh, the release features 24 tracks contributed by artists from across Europe, including Anastasia Zems, Cornelius Doctor, REES, Romain FX, Justine Forever, Zaatar and more.

The ‘Tadamoun’ compilation – which means ‘Solidarity’ in Arabic – will raise vital funds for communities impacted by the Moroccan earthquake, which struck the High Atlas mountains near Marrakesh on Friday 8th September. The 6.8 magnitude quake was the strongest on record for over a century, and has killed over 3000 people and impacted the lives of over 300,000 more.

Speaking on the V/A release, Reda said: “This is a special moment in my life because we could all contribute to this compilation despite our versatile universes... It is a necessary task for us in the music industry to use the tools we have to support important causes and gather global solidarity. I’m happy to have another chance to showcase the love I have for my country.”

The compilation traverses a multitude of sounds and genres, including ambient, trip-hop, leftfield bass, Italo, and techno. Other artists featured on the release include Radial Gaze, Omar EK, Roshâni, Apollon Telefax, and more, alongside a track from Reda Saiarh himself.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two charities who are helping to raise money for those affected by the earthquake, as well as rebuilding communities that have been devastated. These are Atlas Kinder, a charity supporting abandoned children in Morocco, and Insaf, a non-profit organisation that protects and supports women and children.

“This was a family affair from the beginning,” Reda added, “thanks to Ransom Note for making it happen!”
