Bawrut announces debut album on Ransom Note Records

The 11-track album, ‘In The Middle’, will be released in November

Bawrut will release his debut album, ‘In The Middle’, via Ransom Note Records in November.

The Madrid-based, Italian producer has shared two tracks, ‘JE ‘O TTENG E T’O DDÒNG’, with vocalist LIBERATO,  and ‘Crossing for a golden blanket’,  to mark the announcement, both of which you can hear below. An accompanying video for ‘JE ‘O TTENG E T’O DDÒNG’, directed by Karol Sudolski, has also been released

Across the album’s 11 tracks, Bawrut expands on the crunchy house style he has built his name with on releases for Ransom Note, Pets Recordings and Other Goodness. Touching on elements of pop, Italo disco, breakbeat and techno, the album features guest vocals from LIBERATO, Glitter٥٥, Cosmo and Chico Blanco.

‘In The Middle’ is described as a “journey through sunset pop, electronic melancholia and delusive migrations taking place around the Mediterranean”.

Speaking about the album, Bawrut said: “‘In the Middle’ is a reflection on recent years. A story about movement and migration around the Mediterranean but also the notion of a moving identity. It’s about the luck of the drawer, finding yourself born in the middle of the ‘West’, whilst others strive to get here with the hope of a better life. It’s about being in the middle of music and cultures and the beautiful accidents that this movement has produced over the years. Above all, it’s a celebration of the beauty of the movement to a better life, to create something new, with hope and optimism whatever the circumstances. It’s a celebration of diversity and inclusivity.”

5% of the album’s profits will be donated to Open Arms, a non-profit non-governmental organisation dedicated to protecting those who try to reach Europe by sea, fleeing from armed conflict, persecution or poverty.

‘In The Middle’ will be released on 12th November. Pre-order it here
