Brussels club Fuse celebrates 30th anniversary with compilation, book and tour
The legendary club kicks off its tour at Antwerp's Waagnatie in April
Celebrated Brussels club Fuse is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a tour, compilation and book.
The tour kicks off at Antwerp's Waagnatie on 6th April, with 11 acts spread across two rooms. The likes of Ellen Allien, I Hate Models, Mall Grab, Dax J b2b SPFDJ, Sara Dziri an Kobosil are among those set to play. There will be a total of 10 dates on the global club tour, with further details still to be announced.
The anniversary compilation is slated to be released in October and will feature 30 tracks spread across seven LPs. With contributions from local and international acts, it intends to capture the club’s past, present and future. Following that, a book documenting the club's 30-year history will be released in November.
Last year, Fuse, which first opened in 1994, was forced to close its doors due to complaints from a single neighbour who bought a house in the area “some years ago”. Later, the club, which has become one of Belgium’s most famous, confirmed it would remain open for a maximum of two years “under strict conditions”.
In response, the club celebrated its 29th anniversary by testing out a new space called Quadrilatères, which operates under the city's south railway line. According to a report by the Belgian broadcaster VRT at the time, the new venue could become a permanent space for the club in the future.
Fuse also relaunched its label after a ten-year break last year, dropping a new EP, 'Hunt’ by Altinbas – a Brussels-based Turkish/Belgian artist and Fuse resident.
