Atlanta rapper Trouble has died at the age of 34.

The rapper, real name Mariel Semonte Orr, was shot and killed early on Sunday, 5th June, in a home invasion at an apartment in Conyers, an eastern suburb of Atlanta. A suspect in the shooting has been named by police as Atlanta resident Jamichael Jones, who is wanted on allegations of murder, home invasion and aggravated assault.

Police said Jones and Orr were not known to each other, but that Jones was involved in a "domestic situation" with a woman Orr was visiting at the apartment.

Orr released his debut mixtape as Trouble, 'December 17th', in 2011, with eight further mixtapes following it in the years after. He also appeared as a guest artist on releases by the likes of Young Thug and Lupe Fiasco.

The Weeknd, Drake and Migos' Offset appeared on the rapper's 2018 album 'Edgewood', while his most recent mixtape, 2020's 'Thug Luv', took in contributions from 2 Chainz and Migos' Quavo.

In a statement following confirmation of his death, record label Def Jam said Orr was "a true voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented". Drake also shared an image of himself together with the late rapper via his Instagram Story.

A number of other figures from the hip hop community also paid tribute to the late rapper, as you can see below.
