DJ Storm has shared an archived tribute show to her DJing partner Kemistry, along with a 1995 b2b mix, to mark what would have been the late d&b pioneer’s birthday.
On Tuesday (13th October) Storm shared a segment from Fabio & Grooverider’s Radio 1 show, which was originally broadcast in April 1999, a week after the Metalheadz co-founder’s tragic death. During the show, members of the d&b and wider dance music communities including Ray Keith, Norman J, The End, Andy C, Good Looking Records, DJ Ron and more paid their respects to Kemistry over the phone.
In December, Fabio & Grooverider's seminal club night Rage returned for a special one-off event at its original home, London's Heaven.
On the night, one of the guest MCs in the jungle room, Voice MC, invited everyone playing to sign a poster which has now been framed and is being auctioned via eBay to raise funds for the medical treatment of the cousin of one of the night's guest DJs, Jumpin Jack Frost.
Andy C has announced his Xmas Party at Printworks in London.
The mammoth gathering will take place on Saturday 7th December, running from midday to 11PM. The drum 'n' bass goliath has lined up an enviable guest list for the occasion featuring icons of the scene and fresh upstarts alike.
Standout billings include b2bs from DJ Storm and Bailey, Mark XTC and Northbase, Nicky Blackmarket and Ray Keith, Unknown Error and Contakt, and Randall and Dillinja. Legendary sparring partners Ed Rush and Optical will also team up in the booth.
