The Weeknd has shared a series of teasers on his social media, hinting at a potential collaboration with Justice.

The Canadian star shared several Instagram photos featuring Justice’s distinctive cross emblem this week, along with a small French flag, sparking rumours of a possible link up.

The most recent teaser was posted earlier today (18th January) and features The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – gazing up at a giant concrete cross. American record producer Mike Dean, who works with both artists, further fuelled speculation by sharing a picture of Justice and The Weeknd together on his Instagram.

Last year, Justice’s track ‘Planisphere’ was featured in a teaser for The Weeknd's Netflix series The Idol, and the pair were also spotted at his Cannes After Party. The Weeknd has previously collaborated with fellow French titans Daft Punk on the singles ‘I Feel it Coming’ and ‘Starboy’, both of which have surpassed a billion streams on Spotify, as well as French producers Kavinsky and Gesaffelstein. He previously said that he won’t do any more tracks featuring other artists “unless Daft Punk get back together.”

Justice’s impending album, the first since 2016’s ‘Woman’, is rumoured for release later this year. The founder of Ed Banger Records, the band’s label, described the record as evoking the same goosebumps as when he first heard their debut album, ‘Cross’. Earlier this month, Justice shared the first teaser video featuring new music.

The Weeknd is also gearing up to release a new album which will complete the trilogy that began with 2020’s ‘After Hours’ and continued with 2022’s ‘Dawn FM’.

Fans have speculated on X (formerly Twitter) that a collaboration with Justice may feature on the project, with one sharing “something tells me The Weeknd is seriously gearing up to bring back Ed Banger / Justice 2008 vibez this year.”

More news on the collaboration will likely be unveiled soon.
