Tresor to reissue 2002 album from Drexciya’s James Stinson’s Shifted Phases alias

'The Cosmic Memoirs Of The Late Great Rupert J. Rosinthrope' is due out in March

Shifted Phases

Tresor is due to reissue the 2002 solo album from Drexciya’s James Stinson released under his Shifted Phases alias.

'The Cosmic Memoirs Of The Late Great Rupert J. Rosinthrope' was originally released just after Stinson passed away on 3rd September 2002, and has remained out of print since then.

Accompanied by newly commissioned artwork from Matthew Angelo Harrison, the 3xLP vinyl reissue – which is out on 31st March – also features the tracks 'Crossing Of The Sun-Ra Nebula' and 'Alien Vessel Distress Call', which were previously only included on the original CD release.

Check out the album on Bandcamp below and pre-order from Tresor here

This new reissue follows last year's 'Neptune's Lair' reissue, originally released by Stinson and Drexciya cohort Gerald Donald in 1999, along with a flurry of other special editions of its Drexciya catalogue to mark the 20th anniversary of Stinson's passing. 'The Cosmic Memoirs Of The Late Great Rupert J. Rosinthrope' closes out the anniversary re-releases.

Last November, the legendary Berlin imprint released a new album from Detroit producer and musician Wajeed. ‘Memoirs of Hi-Tech Jazz’ is a conceptual release timed exactly to match the duration of a round trip drive from Underground Music Academy in the North End - which was co-founded by Waajeed - to Detroit’s island park, Belle Isle.
