TomorrowWorld set to return in 2018

Tomorrowland's sister festival TomorrowWorld could be heading back to the US in 2018.

The news comes via Belgian publication De Tijd who have reported that talks between Tomorrowland and US promoter LiveStyle are progressing well.

The US version of Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld, quickly fell apart after the 2015 edition was marred by extreme weather, leaving many festivalgoers stranded.

The 2016 version was then subsequently cancelled after its owners, SFX, filed for bankruptcy.

SFX has since been rebranded, with founder Robert Sillerman no longer in charge, as LiveStyle and hopes to bring the festival stateside once again.

Speaking about the festival's return in 2018, a Tomorrowland spokesperson said: “The relations between SFX and Tomorrowland were acidified, but now that new people are in control of the current LiveStyle, there is a new approach.”

Today's news is by no means an official announcement but considering the continued success of Tomorrowland, which welcomed 140,000 attendees for both weekends, a return to EDM's heartland in the US seems like a no brainer.

Hopefully, TomorrowWorld won't suffer the same faint as Tomorrowland Unite Spain, after the festival's main stage caught fire on Saturday evening, forcing organisers to evacuate 22,000 festivalgoers.

Thankfully, no one was injured and investigations are still ongoing to find out what caused the fire.
