Todd Edwards, India Jordan, Kampire, more locked for BBC Radio 1 Residencies

The radio show is moving to Thursday nights and has a new format

BBC Radio 1's long-running Residency show is relaunching with a new line-up, format and timeslot.

Having previously selected eight DJs every six months to each host a monthly one-hour-long radio show on Sunday nights, the Residency will now see two DJs host four one-hour-long radio shows each month, with six being selected for the three months ahead every three months.

In September, BBC Radio 1 will welcome Todd Edwards and Ela Minus to each host four shows on the station, before Shygirl and Kampire take over in October. In November, it's the turn of India Jordan and Maya Jane Coles. Six further DJs will be confirmed at the start of December, for the next run of shows.

The show will now air on Thursday nights, in a timeslot of 11pm until 1am BST. The DJs on rotation that month will each oversee an hour of the slot.

With the relaunch, BBC Radio 1's Residency will say goodbye to Joy Orbison, SHERELLE, Carl Cox, Amelie Lens, Carista, Anz, Avalon Emerson and DJ EZ, who were involved in the most recent rotation of shows.
