Space Ibiza club night, bar and restaurant to launch in 2022, Pepe Roselló confirms

Local produce, the return of Sundays at Space, and opera are all on the menu

A Space Ibiza, club night, bar, and restaurant will launch on the White Island in 2022.

News of the treasured institution returning in a different form has been confirmed by Space Ibiza owner Pepe Roselló, who revealed a number of plans involved in the resurrection. These include a music themed restaurant and bar, Space Sun Beach, located on San Antonio's Sunset Strip, inside the Posta del Sol Building.

Music programming at the bar will pay tribute to the late-José Padilla — the legendary Ibiza DJ who died last year, aged 64.

In addition, Roselló has also unveiled aims to keep "the spirit of Space" alive with a new series of club events set to be held on Ibiza under the Sundays at Space banner. The venue for these will be announced once "everything has been clarified and signed."

All this follows Roselló's statement in May of this year promising that Space would return before next year — a proposition that was delayed coronavirus pandemic. The original club, in Playa d'en Bossa, closed for good in 2016, although by 2018 Carl Cox was name-checking the team behind a fresh iteration of the beloved venue, which ran from 1986 and claimed number one spot in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs no less than six times since the poll began in 2006.
