Slowthai has pleaded not guilty to two charges of rape.
The 28-year-old UK rapper, real name Tyron Frampton, initially appeared in court when he was charged last month, and has now entered his plea to the charges. He is accused of raping a woman twice on 8th September, 2021.
Co-defendant Alex Blake-Walker, 25, pleaded not guilty at Oxford Crown Court to one charge of sexually assaulting the same woman. He is also charged with raping and sexually assaulting a second complainant. Judge Michael Gledhill KC released the two defendants on conditional bail with a trial date set for July 2024, the BBC reports.
Frampton recently withdrew from a gig at Wembley Stadium on 8th July, at which he was due to support Blur. He's also been removed from the line-ups for this year's Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds festivals.
In a statement posted on social media in May, Frampton denied all charges, writing: “I am innocent and I am confident my name will be cleared. Until then I will apply my energy to [ensuring] this is concluded swiftly and justly. I ask that my supporters don't comment about this situation and respect the process and privacy of my family during this time."
