Simon Reynolds’ new book, Futuromania, documents influential electronic music from 1970s onwards
It's the acclaimed author and music journalist's first book in eight years
Celebrated music and culture journalist Simon Reynolds has announced a new book. 'Futuromania: Electronic Dreams, Desiring Machines and Tomorrow's Music Today' documents influential electronic sounds from the 1970s onward and will go on sale 11th April 2024 through White Rabbit Books.
The work looks at artists including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Burial, Daft Punk, Giorgio Moroder and Boards of Canada. Meanwhile, trends and technological advancements are charted, from the impact of Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love' to the introduction of auto-tune in the 21st Century. The author, whose previous work includes 'Energy Flash', cites this latest publication as a counterpoint to his 2010 offering, 'Retromania'.
