R&S Records to release debut album from Afriqua, ‘Colored’

The album marks the artist's third release on the imprint

Afriqua will release his debut album 'Colored' via R&S Records in October.

The album, described as "a celebration of the unifying power of Black culture through the prism of electronic music," follows the 'Aleph' and 'Vice/Principle' EPs from Afriqua, real name Adam Longman Parker, on R&S Records.

'Colored' features tracks with LCD Soundsystem bassist, Tyler Pope, and New York hip-hop artist Salomon Fay, who has previously collaborated with J.Cole and Odd Future affiliate Hodgy.

“The overarching theme was reconciling this branch of the Black musical tree with its origins," Parker said of the album in a press release, "It's not divisive, it's about celebrating the rightful origins of the music we all enjoy.”

'Colored' will be released on the 4th October. Listen to track 'Jumpteenth' below, and pre-order the album here.
