A new independent queer radio station is launching in Bristol.

Kunt Up Music.FM aims "to shine a light on Bristol’s rich and diverse queer scene". Comprising a weekly broadcasting schedule from Thursday to Sunday, the station promises "carefully curated daily shows that feature underground sounds, important conversations, event shoutouts and much much more".

In an interview in RA, spokesperson James said that musically speaking the station will "host a variety of genres and formats," which they say could mean anything from "indie punk bands to hard dance DJs and collectives."

Meanwhile, Kunt Up Music.FM Friday and Saturday evening shows will be set aside for "the city’s thriving nightlife scene," spanning the likes of "techno, house, hardcore, jungle, electro, UK garage, dubstep, drum & bass, ballroom and disco."

Applications to join Kunt Up Music as a show host are open until 16th December and they are also on the lookout for volunteers. Writing on Instagram today (22nd November), the station says current roles include Production Assistant, Promotion Assistant and Social Media Assistant.
