Nídia has announced details of a new album, '95 MINDJERES’, arriving via Lisbon label Príncipe. Listen to the first single, ‘É COMO?’, below.

The producer’s fourth studio album will land on 6th October, and features 11 polyrhythmic dance tracks informed by Afro-Portuguese styles such as kuduro, batida, and tarraxinha.

'95 MINDJERES’ follows three previous LPs released on the cult label – beginning with her 2015 debut ‘Danger’, followed by 2017’s ‘Nídia É Má, Nídia É Fudida’ and 2020’s ‘Não Fales Nela Que A Mentes’.

The artists' latest is inspired by the role of women freedom fighters in the struggle for the independence of Guinea-Bissau from Portuguese colonial domination during the 1960s and 1970s. It features cover artwork by Príncipe's in-house designer, Márcio Matos.

Last month, Príncipe dropped a new compilation of formative kuduro tracks from Lisbon's DJs Di Guetto. The 13-track collection aims to capture the spirit and energy of kuduro, a style of music that originated in Angola in the late '80s, but evolved and exploded in the barrios of Lisbon.
