Premiere: Physical Therapy 'Male Tears'

Daniel Fisher covers nine different aliases, and even more genres, subgenres (and sub-subgenres) on his latest album for his NYC-based label Allergy Season, 'It Takes A Village: The Sounds Of Physical Therapy'.

From the blustery electro his his most renowned moniker Physical Therapy, by way of trippy hip-hop from Green Buddha and ambient as Car Culture there's a lot of ground covered. "Eclectic" is the most well-worn of words, but Fisher has proven as both producer, DJ and label-runner that he is deserving of the descriptor. 

The album is bristling with agitated breakbeats, mangled 4x4 techno, and unexpected, delightful helpings of percussion. The nourishing, jazzy house of 'Male Tears' is something of an outlier on the record, an unfussy salvo of dreamy breaks and soft melody, with strutting snares matched by a gentle bass hum, with brief dub breakdowns woven seamlessly in its middle. It's immaculately crafted, and more simply, very good. Check it out below.
