Paul van Dyk issues heartfelt statement one year on from life-threatening stage fall

Paul van Dyk suffered a life-threatening stage fall a year ago, and today he has issued a heartfelt statement on the support he’s had through his recovery.

The German trance legend was performing at the A State Of Trance (ASOT) event in Utrecht on 28th February 2016 when he fell through a gap in the side of the stage and suffered a cracked vertebrae.

Speaking about his recovery in a new post on Twitter, van Dyk said, “One year ago, the emergency unit and intensive care team from UMC Utrecht saved my life.

“I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who fought for me, prayed for me and sent positive energy.”

You can see the full post below, which he signed off by saying, “The challenges are great and it’s still a long path of recovery, but with your support and the love of my life at my side, I promise I will never give up.”

The DJ/producer announced that he would return to DJing in May last year when he confirmed several dates, including a run of shows Cream Ibiza and numerous festival commitments.

That was before van Dyk opened up about the recovery from his life-threatening stage fall for the first time in June last year.
