New York club, The Dance, is closing
The Manhattan venue bows out next week amid management issues
New York club The Dance is set to close after just four months on the Manhattan nightlife map.
Opening in October 2019, the venue announced the news via an Instagram post on Monday 10th February, along with details of a final party set for Tuesday 18th February, with US Girls on the bill. Management issues have been blamed for the sudden shuttering.
"Over its short lifespan, The Dance felt like an incredible moment of creativity and rejuvenated nightlife in a borough that desperately needed it," the post reads. "Unfortunately, the ownership group has respectively decided to pull the plug on this dream and go in another direction, thus ending The Dance as it is known today."
It's sad news for The Big Apple's most expensive borough, with guests at the short-lived space including Prospa, DJ Python, and local innovator MoMa Ready (whose new album recently landed). Elsewhere in the city major openings dominated the news agenda last year, including 3,000 capacity Amuse, Brooklyn's The Sultan Room and Basement in Queens.
