New listening bar, Good Bar, opens in Brooklyn

From the crew behind the New York borough's Good Room

A new listening bar, Good Bar, will open in Brooklyn, New York, this Friday 28th February.

Brainchild of the crew behind 500-capacity Good Room, where forthcoming events include the likes of Mike Huckaby and Session Victim, this new project is aimed squarely at audiophiles. A vintage Thorens TD 160 turntable and Klipsch Heresy III speakers will feature, with local craft beer and late kitchen providing refreshments.

A specially curated vinyl library will be held on-site, with globally recognised DJs invited to play from the racks and bring their own crates for listening sessions. Programming for this is still to be confirmed. The public will also have the opportunity to show off their own collections at regular events.

Earlier this month we reported on the sad news that Manhattan's short-lived but much-loved The Dance club was closing its doors for good, while last week news broke of Four Tet's huge audio-visual show heading to the city's Avant Gardner following a date at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
