New interactive DJ video game, FUSER, announced
The game developed by Harmonix is set to be released later this year and allows players to become a DJ
A new interactive console game has been announced, which allows players to become a virtual DJ. FUSER will be released later this year in autumn by video game development companies, Harmonix and NCSOFT.
FUSER allows players to take on the role of a DJ, mixing popular songs for points to get the crowd moving. Featured will be a single-player option, freestyle and multiplayer-modes. Over 100 licensed tracks will be included at the launch, including Fat Boy Slim’s ‘The Rockafeller Skank’ and the Chainsmokers’ ‘Don’t Let Me Down’.
A social media option to share mashups online will also be available for players.
In a statement, Harmonix CEO Steve Janiak said: “It’s recording and sharing videos of you singing along to your favourite songs, watching your favourite bands play at festivals, and sharing hit music with your friends. FUSER puts players at the centre of all that by letting you mix and share some of the biggest hits.”
FUSER follows other contemporary games, such as Grand Theft Auto V in their incorporation of electronic music into the virtual world.
