Multiple European festivals are going ahead this year

Serbia's EXIT festival and BSH Island in Croatia will go ahead this Summer

Multiple European festivals are set to go ahead this summer.

As festivals continue to cancel and postpone in areas hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic, festivals are scheduled to take place in countries like Croatia and Serbia from this month, with a handful of festivals also planned in Malta.

Croatia's BSH Island Festival, with a line-up featuring the likes of ARTBAT, Honey Dijon, Richy Ahmed and Paco Osuna, will take place from the 9th to the 13th July on the island of Pag at Noa Beach Club. Croatia has had almost 3,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country, with 110 deaths reported.

Serbia's EXIT festival, which will run from the 13th to the 16th August, also remains scheduled to go ahead. Among the first artists to be confirmed last month were Black Coffee, VTSS, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Roni Size, who headlined the festival 20 years ago, as well as Glaswegian stalwart Denis Sulta.

Festivals around the world have had to be cancelled or postponed due the COVID-19 pandemic, along with countless club closures and tour cancellations. While the pandemic has led to several festivals moving into the world of live-streaming, or even the virtual world, some reports suggest that the festival industry is under threat of total collapse.
