Miller SoundClash - What Happened Next?

Miller SoundClash – the DJ competition that gives you the chance to get signed to a major label and perform in some of Las Vegas' most famous clubs – will be returning in 2017. Ahead of news of this year's competition, we thought it was a good time to catch up with some of the previous finalists to see what has happened since they returned from Vegas.

SCORSI
Scorsi represented Brazil at Miller SoundClash 2016. Already a major player in his home country, with gigs in many of the nation's top clubs, Scorsi recently dropped an original release on the Phouse label. The chunky drums and euphoric synths on 'Picture Frame' make it a sure-fire dancefloor destroyer! You can stream it below.

MARKOBIE (CAISSA)
We caught up with Markobie from Caissa, who represented Dominican Republic at Miller SoundClash 2015. Caissa have taken a break, so Markobie is now working on solo projects, including a series of parties in Santa Domingo, which champion local house and techno DJs. Speaking of his Miller SoundClash experience, Markobie said: "I can honestly say that the whole experience has been one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. I got to travel to Las Vegas with one of my best friends and had the honour of playing at one of the most exclusive venues in the world, got to know a ton of amazing people and – to me, that is what this whole experience is all about – made connections with other DJs from around the world."

BSNO
Since representing Mexico in Miller SoundClash 2015, BSNO's career has gone from strength to strength. Last year he returned to Las Vegas for an Independence day set at Drais. He has also played at EDC Mexico, where he managed to keep a full dancefloor, despite a set clash with Axwell /\ Ingrosso. Aside from these high-profile shows,  BSNO has also made time to get into the studio. His latest cut, a melodic big room anthem, is being supported by Laidback Luke, Danny Avila and Blasterjaxx.

LOVING ARMS
The judges in Las Vegas were impressed by Loving Arms' mashup style when they represented Hungary at Miller SoundClash 2015. "SoundClash was the best journey of our life" the duo told us. "We got the chance to play at one of the world's best clubs, and to get a taste of how famous DJs live their life! We've met with lots of new people in the music scene from different countries with different cultures from all around the World."

Since returning to Hungary, the Loving Arms duo have been busy playing at some of the country's biggest festivals, including Batalon Sound, Sziget and Volt. You can check a clip of their Batalon Sound performance below.

DJ CAISE
"Miller SoundClash made me realise music is truly a universal language" DJ Caise, who represented Nigeria at Miller SoundClash 2015, told DJ Mag. "Meeting people from all over the world who share the same passion for music was a great feeling."

The Nigerian DJ has been busy working on an afrobeats/house fusion that has seen him perform at events including One Lagos and Lost, alongside Black Coffee – who Caise considers a mentor. You can check out all of his music and follow him at www.soundcloud.com/deejay-caise.

FEELGOODSMALLS
Canadian DJ, FeelGoodSmalls is about to release her debut single on Aftercluv Dancelab (Universal Music). The track, titled 'Lose Control', drops in March. Despite the choice of track title, it seems like FeelGoodSmalls is very much in control of her future right now – having just returned from a tour of China. Last year, she called into DJ Mag HQ for a live stream, and was recently invited to Dominican Republic to be a judge at the regional Miller SoundClash final. 

AUGUSTO YEPES
2015's Miller SoundClash champion, Augusto Yepes describes his experience in Vegas as "an opportunity of a lifetime". His victory in the Grand Final led to lots more bookings in Colombia and beyond. This year he has performed with Claptone in Peru, and has been booked to play at The Social festival alongside Pete Tong and Carl Cox. He also released his debut single, on Aftercluv Dancelab  (Universal Music), which you can stream below.

DEMO SANTANA
"My life has been amazing since returning from Las Vegas" Demo Santana told us. The DJ, who represented Panama at Miller SoundClash in 2016, has been inundated with opportunities to perform at shows across the country. He is currently working on a new project called #Totuma – a series of parties featuring some of Panama's biggest DJs. He has also been in the studio, preparing tracks for his release on Aftercluv Dancelab  (Universal Music) which should be dropping later in the year.
