London’s The Yard to host fundraising party for Australian Bushfire Relief

All ticket proceeds are going directly to relief from the Australian bushfires, via the RSPCA National Bushfire Appeal and grassroots organisation, Firesticks,

A charity night is set to take place at Hackney Wick's The Yard on Saturday 1st February: 'Smoked Out: A Bushfire Relief Fundraiser'.

All ticket proceeds are going directly to relief from the Australian bushfires, via the RSPCA National Bushfire Appeal and grassroots organisation, Firesticks, which provides "Indigenous leadership, advocacy and action to protect sacred land through cultural land and fire management practices".

"Australia has been burning since September 2019 and climate scientists are telling us that this is the new normal," the event description reads. "We've seen the loss of 2000 homes, 25 million acres of sacred bushland, one billion animals, and 32 human lives and governments have given communities impacted their "thoughts and prayers". We can do better! ! !"

Manuka Honey, BOMBO, Janelle Wynter, Jarman, Mark-Ashley Dupé are all programmed to DJ at The Yard, with live performances from Kieran Martin and Eliza Legzdina.

Various figures in the electronic music community have come together to drum up support for fighting the bushfires that have been raging across Australia since mid-December. Or:la announced a new charity compilation on Céad, and Nina Las Vegas, Mall Grab, Logic1000 and DJ Plead are just some of the artists who have pledged support for the cause.

DJ EZ recently announced he would be donating his upcoming Australia and New Zealand tour proceeds to bushfire relief charities, while The Cause is throwing three parties, including a 19-hour rave, in a bid to raise $50,000 for the disaster.
