LONDON MAYOR SADIQ KHAN SPEAKS OUT ON FABRIC REOPENING

"I am delighted..."

Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, says he is "delighted" that renowned nightclub Fabric will reopen following a agreement reached between the venue, Metropolitan police and local council.

Yesterday Khan tweeted about the decision, calling it "fantastic news" and thanking Islington for finding a compromise.

Elaborating further, Khan said: "I am delighted that this agreement has been reached and that fabric will now reopen. I have always said that we needed to find a common-sense solution that protects both the future of Fabric and the safety of all clubbers—as this does. I especially want to thank Islington council for working so hard to come to this solution."

According to Khan, his newly appointed Night Czar Amy Lamé held discussions with all involved parties to help reach a successful conclusion.

Fabric currently doesn't have an official reopening date, but when it does there will be significant changes to entry policy, including a ban on 18-year-olds, ID scanners and increased search measures. Read more about the agreement here.
