A Keith Flint mural has been installed at his local football club, Braintree Town FC
The tribute has been approved by The Prodigy
A mural honouring the late Keith Flint has been installed at Braintree Town FC, his local football club.
Artist David "Gnasher" Nash is behind the mural, which depicts the Prodigy frontman sticking out his famously pierced tongue. It's also been given the seal of approval by The Prodigy who commented on Braintree Town's Instagram post about the mural, saying, "Respect guys".
Staff and supporters at the club contributed to pay Nash for his work, which took around seven hours to complete on Monday, October 7th.
Nash told the BBC that he'd been a fan of The Prodigy since the group's early days "when [he] was a rave DJ.
"When I first saw Keith Flint on stage it blew me away - his performances always stole the show," he added.
Braintree Town FC club historian Jon Weaver, who suggested creating the mural, told the BBC: "Keith lived locally for most of his life and we wanted to do something for the town.
"We are extremely pleased with Gnasher's outstanding artwork and look forward to seeing the reaction of supporters."
Keith Flint died earlier this year at the age of 49.
