Jayda G releases new single, ‘Meant To Be’: Listen

Jayda G, has released a new single, 'Meant To Be'. You can listen to the track below, which is taken from her forthcoming album, 'Guy'.
Slated to land on 9th June via Ninja Tune, the record is co-produced by Jack Peñate, whose back catalogue includes work with David Byrne and Adele. Lisa-Kaindé Diaz of Ibeyi makes an appearance, as does Ed Thomas — known for collaborations with Stormzy, Nia Archives, and Jorja Smith.
The new track is smooth house-funk-disco crossover packed with warm groove. The lyrics contrast this, and focus on learning from the more than 11 hours of videotapes recorded by her father, William Richard Guy, before he passed away, while lamenting the fact he is no longer there. Previous singles 'Scars', 'Circle Back Around', and 'Blue Lights' have drawn on similar themes, which run through next month's LP.
This summer, Jayda G – who is DJ Mag's May cover star – will play a host of major festivals, in addition to dates in Ibiza. These include Glastonbury, Primavera, Hideout, Defected, Field Day, and HÏ. You can find a full list below the embed.
