Illegal rave in Norfolk takes police 20 hours to shut down
The police recieved a tip-off from Facebook...
Police were called to shut down an illegal rave in Norfolk last Saturday (6th July).
The call was made by a member of the public at 7:30pm on Saturday, after an event page for the rave was advertised on Facebook.
Despite the call being made on Saturday evening, Norfolk Constabulary did not arrive at the rave until Sunday at 3:45pm, when the party was shut down.
There were around 600 people present at the rave, which was in the Massingham Heath area of Kings Lynn in Norfolk, and specially-trained support teams arrived to seize equipment.
Three men aged 25, 28 and 31 were arrested in relation to the organisation of the rave, and two men aged 20 and 33 were arrested on drug driving related offences.
In 2017, over 680 reports of illegal raves and unlicensed music were made to the police.
A recent study from TickPick showed that 69% of people think you're never too old to rave.
