I. JORDAN and Planningtorock share new double single, ‘TNB’, on Ninja Tune: Listen
The duo describe the tracks as an “important part of the transitional journeys we have gone on”
I. JORDAN and Planningtorock have linked up on a new double single, ‘TNB’, with both the "Day" and "Night" versions of the track out now on Ninja Tune. Check them out below.
The two-tracker was born out of a close friendship between the artists who initially connected online after the release of I. JORDAN’s debut EP, ‘DNT STP MY LV’. The Doncaster-born, London-based producer was invited to attend an Abbey Road x Pitchfork London studio session and invited Planningtorock (aka. Jam Rostron) to join them as a way to finally collaborate.
‘TNB (Day Version)’ was created through the duo mirroring each other’s sounds, which Jam described as “a magical coming together... it just fitted.” The track explores themes of identity and trans joy, which are at the core of both artists' ethos.
'TNB (Night Version)' was created six months later after an important period of time for both artists and their transitional journeys. The track flips the original into a high-energy club edit, which was Jam and Jordan’s way of reflecting on these changes while celebrating the importance of queer late night spaces.
The duo commented that the tracks “capture different but also parallel moments in time... they represent those different moments in our lives, and both represent an important part of the transitional journeys we have gone on.”
