Hospital Records announce free Women In Drum & Bass event this week

It's part of the label's gender equality initiative, which launched in 2019

Hospital Records is putting on a Women In Drum & Bass event this Friday, 17th September.

Taking place as part of the record label's gender equality initiative, which launched in 2019 with an aim to showcase and develop more female-identifying DJs within the drum & bass scene, the free, in-person event will take place at Shoreditch's Strongroom in London.

The seven-hour event is open to female-identifying artists and future industry professionals, and will feature panel discussions and workshops with figures from across the drum & bass scene, which will address gender imbalance. Topics will also include signing music to labels, event management, publishing, copyright and marketing.

The day will also include A&R speed feedback sessions for up-and-coming artists to have one-to-one feedback with label owners, A&Rs and artists.

Production and DJ workshops will be hosted by Beatport, Education & Bass, DJ Rap, Nu:Tone and Keeno, while the panels will include views from the likes of BCee, Rinse FM DJ Emerald and PRS representative Ash Howard, among others.
