Fundraiser launched to support family of late Music From Memory co-founder Jamie Tiller

Family and friends of the late Music From Memory co-founder Jamie Tiller have launched a fundraiser to help support his wife and son.

The GoFundMe, created by the Berlin-based DJ's friend Jen Harris and mother Chrissie Tiller, seeks to help support living and immigration expenses for his six-year-old son Max and wife Taysa in the wake of the his death on 15th October following a "tragic accident". "Not only are they completely devastated by the loss and dealing with the shock of it, they are now also facing many bureaucratic and financial burdens ahead of them", the campaign description reads.

"Tasya [who is a Ukrainian immigrant] is now facing many unexpected expenses from the sudden death including travel fees, paperwork processing costs, and an immigration lawyer, which she needs in order to stay in Berlin," Harris and Tiller wrote, "plus rent and the costs of raising and caring for Max, which will now solely fall on her."

In addition to co-founding Music From Memory with Abel Nagengast and Tako Reyenga in 2013, Jamie Tiller's livelihood came from his work co-owning a wine bar in the Neukölln neighbourhood called SWAY.

Since launching last week, nearly €38,000 has been raised, with a goal of €45,000.

In an update, Chrissie Tiller wrote, "We want to thank you all so much for your generosity and for the beautiful things you have said about Jamie. It is a great comfort for all of us in his family to know how much he was loved by the world."
