Elrow cancel Friends & Family festival due to local council pressure

The anniversary party shifts to Barcelona’s Row 14

Elrow’s 2017 expansion has been slowed due to disagreements with local officials in Salou, ES. At the recommendation of local politicians and stakeholders, Elrow’s 15th July Friends & Family festival has been cancelled.

A celebration of Elrow’s seventh anniversary, the event featured Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, and Adam Beyer, Guy Gerber, wAFF, Steve Lawler and Jackmaster, and was expected to draw 20,000 revelers to Spain’s northeast region.

“We regret to announce the cancelation of our upcoming festival Friends & Family,” reads the organizations Facebook post. “Due to the recent controversy between the local councils, shown publicly in many local newspapers headlines, we have been recommended to cancel the event in order to not contribute any further to the political tension. elrow always strives to have a perfect working relationship with the authorities and politicians at our events. Once arrived at this point, we have no other choice but to regrettably take this decision. It was our and the local councils interest to bring a world class festival to the area."

Neither the artists nor Elrow have totally abandoned the celebration. In its place, Beyer and co. will take to Row 14 in Viladecans, Barcelona to usher in the anniversary.
