Dublin’s District 8 club to reopen in new location

With several big names in house playing the reopening party...

After being forced to close in January, District 8 is reopening in Dublin this September.

The popular club announced via instagram that it has found a new home base at Jam Park, after redevelopments at the Tivoli Theatre — where it was located since 2014 — made remaining there impossible.

The new multipurpose venue is run by local promoters Bodytonic, and promises more room for clubbers, as well as "better sound" and "bigger production," the party promised.

District 8’s first party takes place on September 7th with Kerri Chandler, Jeremy Underground and Brame & Hamo. Future lineups are still TBA, but the bash will be one of 20 parties each year happening at Jam Park.

“This is just the start for us and we will be announcing many more huge shows over the next few weeks,” the club said in a statement. Read it in full below.

We at District 8 are both proud and excited to announce the next chapter in our journey. Following on from the closure of the Tivoli Theatre earlier this year, we, like everyone else, were left searching for what might be the next step for Dublin clubbing. But out of adversity comes opportunity, and we are delighted to announce that District 8 will reopen this September at the multi-purpose Bodytonic venue, Jam Park (Airside Retail Park, Swords, Co. Dubin), curating 20 select shows annually in this incredible new venue. In this new space, District 8 will pick up right where we left off, bringing you the same high quality electronic music from around the globe, but with better sound, bigger production and bigger lineups in an even bigger space. And to coincide with this announcement, we are delighted to reveal the lineup for our opening night... On the 7th September 2019, we kick things off with a very special lineup of artists that we have long admired and have themselves been responsible for some unforgettable District 8 moments... Kerri Chandler, Jeremy Underground and Brame & Hamo. Kerri has been an Irish favourite for over two decades, with a back catalogue of music that transcends generations. His shows are always incredibly uplifting experiences that connect with us Irish, every time... A World-class DJ and producer, always super modest, humble and laid back, he recently cited D8 as one of his all-time favourite clubs, ever! And often refers to District 8 and Ireland as “coming home”... We couldn’t think of a better person to open our new home. Keeping things special for the occasion, Kerri requested to present this event as Kaoz, his label and brand that features at select clubs and festivals across the globe... And with Jeremy Underground and Brame & Hamo joining him, who are we to argue? As always, we looking forward with great excitement to the return of the King of House. This is just the start for us and we will be announcing many more huge shows over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for weekly updates - we have many more big lineups to reveal. #District8
