DJ Mag Dances in Dublin with Deetron

EGG London round off their 3D World tour in the Irish capital...

Carefully curated lineups and a ferociously dedicated crowd have ascended from Dublin’s suburban warehouse raves to dominate the Irish capital’s nightlife. Few better places to experience Dublin’s dirty disco desire than Pygmallion, who’ve seen the likes of Honey Dijon, Red Axes, Ivan Smagghe and Derrick May don the decks in the past year alone.

No surprise then, that UK club Egg LDN – winner of 2017's Best of British Awards for Best Large Club – decided to stage the final stop of their 3D London world tour in the Pygmallion vaults, where headliner Deetron was propped up by a host of local talent. As DJ Mag enters, resident Colin Perkins is thoroughly warming the walls with Mungolian Jetset’s ‘Quintessential Trips to Bergen’ building to a frenzy of percussion and bubbling synth sonics, atypical of Pyg's confined but cosmic atmosphere.

By the time Deetron drops KiNK’s stripped-back ‘Beats’, the packed main room is locked into the groove, heads down and eyes closed. Dublin’s dance music scene has never gone away, but it’s now more vibrant than ever – Egg LDN’s final tour stop proved it’s more than capable of holding its own with Europe’s clubbing capitals.
