DJ Mag co-hosting ‘Raving Iran’ and ‘Manchester Keeps On Dancing’ documentary screenings

Manchester's and Tehran's scenes get the documentary treatment...

DJ Mag is excited to announce that we'll be co-hosting screenings for two amazing music documentaries this November in London.

Alongside Doc'N Roll festival, the first film to get its world premiere will be the hotly anticipated documentary, Manchester Keeps On Dancing.

Shot in a film noir style, the documentary focuses its attention on the explosion of acid house in Manchester during the 80s at clubs like The Haçienda.

Featuring testimonials from international stars including Laurent Garnier, Todd Terry and Carl Craig, the documentary will also feature interviews with local heroes like Mike Pickering and Justin Robertson.

After the premiere, there will be a Q&A with a host of Manc-affiliated legends, including Greg Wilson, Mike Pickering and Warehouse Project resident Matthew Krysko, alongside director Javi Senz.

The world premiere of the film and subsequent panel will be taking place at the Rio Cinema in Dalston on Saturday 4th November from 4pm.

The other film to get its screening is Susanne Regina Meures' phenomenal Raving In Iran, which shows the consequences of putting on parties in Tehran and the outlying desert.

The stars of the film, Blade and Beard, will be chatting live from Switzerland after the screening via satellite link along with acclaimed Iranian-born DJ Darius Syrossian.

You can catch the film and the discussion on Wednesday 15th November at the Ritzy Cinema, Brixton from 8.30pm.

Check out trailers for both documentaries below.
