Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness to take place in December

David Guetta, Aloe Blacc, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are among the many artists taking part in the charity event

The Tim Bergling Foundation will host a tribute concert in aid of mental health awareness.

Bringing together artists, producers and DJs who worked with the late Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, the concert will take place at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on the 5th December, and feature a 30-piece live band.

The concert will open with headline DJ sets from close friends of the late artist, including David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Nicky Romero. Some of Avicii's biggest collaborators will also be at the arena later this year, with Aloe Blac, Bonn, Otto Knows, and Rita Ora all slated to perform alongside the band.

Speaking about the Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness, Klas Bergling, Avicii's father and founder of The Tim Berling Foundation, said: “We are grateful that his friends, producers, artists and colleagues are coming to Stockholm to help.  They have all expressed a sincere interest and desire to engage in efforts to stem the tide of mental illness and lend their support to our work with the Tim Bergling Foundation. We are very much looking forward to this evening, which will be a starting point for the foundation's work going forward."

Profits from the concert will go to charities which address mental health needs and suicide prevention.

We dedicated 36 pages of editorial content in this month's issue of DJ Mag to talk about dance music's most pressing issue: Mental Health. We spoke to artists, promoters DJs and PRs about discussing mental health, explored the work of Klas Bergling and The Tim Berling Foundation, and imagined what a safe space, all-inclusive club would look like.
