Arcadia announces plans for 10th birthday in London with LWE

The 50-tonne fire-breathing spider is coming to the capital...

Arcadia has announced its plans for a spectacular 10th birthday celebration in London, which will mark the immersive festival experience's first ever date in the UK capital, with dance promotion giants LWE (London Warehouse Events) also involved.

Spanning two days (5th and 6th May 2018), attendees can expect to come face-to-face with the iconic 50-tonne spider, which has wowed audiences at festivals like Glastonbury for years, not to mention those on a further three continents, with appearances including mega-sessions such as Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Renowned for combining elements of circus, rave, sculpture and animatronics, for the London edition Arcadia will also call on tesla performers shooting 2million volts of lightning from their chests, huge jets of CO2, and incredible light displays for the critically lauded Metamorphosis show.

Arcadia founders Pip Rush and Bert Cole said: “We can’t wait to bring Arcadia into the capital for the first time. Having toured the globe, we’re really excited to get back onto home soil, and celebrate the best of the past decade.”

"It's a real honour to be working with the award-winning Arcadia team and welcoming them to London for the very first time," added Will Harold, Director of LWE. "With Arcadia's 10th anniversary falling on Glastonbury's fallow year, it's a momentous occasion and a rare chance to create an incredible event together. All the LWE team are hugely excited to be part of this one off event.”
