Anastasia Kristensen drops new EP, ‘Volshebno’ on Houndstooth: Listen

A cinematic video for the title track has also been shared to mark the release

Anastasia Kristensen has released a new EP.

Out now via London club fabric's in-house Houndstooth label, 'Volshebno’ marks the Russian producer's second release on the imprint, following her 'M A X I M A' EP in 2019.

Blending the sounds of Copenhagen’s trance and techno scene with UK jungle, breaks and hardcore, the high-energy EP comes with a "playful and melodic narrative".

"Volshebno means Magical in Russian," Kristensen says. "It’s about those very first and initial feelings, like - when you have a brilliant new idea or realising you’re developing a new crush on someone."

Alongside the EP, Kristensen has also shared a hyper-personal video, ‘Volshebno (Stretched)'. Cast by and including the artist, the video is a portrayal of human experience, produced by Jens Steinicke Kjær.

Speaking about the moving visuals, Kristensen said: “'Volshebno (Stretched)' music video shows a direct and honest take on those moments of first and intense emotions: surprise, pain, laugh or being intrigued or in love. It's a spectrum of many human experiences beautifully displayed while following the blissful lead synth and shifting rhythms of the track. Just like the meaning of Volshebno, it’s magical.”
