Premiere: Willy 'First Ill'

Newly-founded label MELD launch their imprint with a V/A compilation later this month. Among the label's talent roster is newcomer, Willy, who provides a dynamic take on UK techno with 'First Ill'

Scottish collective MELD will launch their label on the 20th August with the 'Various Artists: Volume 1' compilation.

Founded in 2017, the collective, podcast, party, and now label, will welcome rising stars Hampton, Alex R, Qasa and Willy as contributors to the first EP.

Willy, real name Lewis Williamson, is a 19 year old Glasgow-based producer. The upstart is fast gaining recognition for his slick productions, with a five-track release slated on Sub Club resident Liam Doc’s Eyeangle Records later this year.

‘First Ill' doubles up as both a killer debut and a dynamic take on UK techno, in the same vein as the artists from the Hessle Audio and Timedance crews.

Creating a fast-paced and evolving narrative, the producer fuses progressive pads, intense percussion and a bubbling synth for a heady five-minute trip.
