Premiere: Toma Kami ‘Aces’

Next up on Bristol’s Livity Sound is Toma Kami with the ‘Negative Extasy’ EP. Hear the radiant and rhythmically complex ‘Aces’ now...

Ever-reliable Bristol label Livity Sound will release Toma Kami’s new EP ‘Negative Extasy’ this Friday 28th June.

The label’s first release of 2019 – following superb outings from Laurel Halo & Hodge, Facta, Cando, Forest Drive West and more last year – ‘Negative Extasy’ finds Toma Kami on particularly percussive form, bouncing from sharp, dubby trips to the headier hard-drum energy of the title track.

Like 2018’s ‘Sharp Tool In The Shed / Land Of The Insane’, also released on Livity Sound, this four-tracker is rhythmically complex and colourful, making for a perfect dancefloor warm-up material. No better example than ‘Aces’, with its swelling synth chords and skittish percussion. Check it out below.

The title track from the EP also recently featured in a recent mix from Kazakhstan’s Nazira as part of our Fresh Kicks series, fitting like a glove in her set of kaleidoscopic techno. Check it out here
