Premiere: Locklead 'Plants and Astronauts'

Utrecht’s Locklead will release his debut album, 'Square One', via Up The Stuss later this week. Hear the deep, spaced-out vibes of LP track 'Plants and Astronauts' now

Locklead will release his debut LP later this week.

Following releases on Slapfunk, Hot Haus Recs, Dungeon Meat and Pleasure Zone, Utrecht-based DJ and producer Locklead joins Chris Stussy's Up The Stuss imprint with an eight-track album in the form of 'Square One'.

Brimming with tracks primed for all hours in the club, Locklead serves up heady, minimal beats, deep, driving groove and sweeping atmospheric numbers for a diverse full-length effort.

Speaking about the project, Locklead said: “Like many others, I had a lot of spare time across the past year, and during this period I discovered a deeper side of myself and a place in which I seem to be very comfortable. The LP is a very personal project that mixes experiences in life and as an artist with these discoveries, all blended on top of a sturdy club foundation. I couldn’t have wished for a better home than Chris’ label Up The Stuss to present my album, 'Square One'.”

On album standout 'Plants and Astronauts', deep house influences pair with wonky sonics for a spacey trip through time. Listen to the track below, and pre-order 'Square One' ahead of its release tomorrow (3rd) here
