Premiere: Interplanetary Criminal 'Pain (All I Want)'

Manchester’s genre-melding Interplanetary Criminal serves up dubs, breaks and bass on new EP, ‘Confused’. Listen to the sombre, speed garage vibes of ‘Pain (All I Want)’ now...

Interplanetary Criminal has announced his latest EP, ‘Confused’.

Joining the likes of Subjoi, Paradiso Rhythm and LUZ1E, the ‘Confused’ EP is slated for release 5th August via Manchester label, Dansu Discs.

Drawing influence from the sounds of UK garage, the five-track EP opens with the title track, featuring vocals from Amethyst for a listening experience that’s glossy and gritty all at once.

The A-side closer, ‘Pain (All I Want)’, cleverly samples 2015 film ‘The Lobster', before spiralling instantly into a thumping bassline.

The track’s roots are firmly planted in bubbling garage, yet ‘Pain (All I Want)’ is dripping in emotion. Interplanetary Criminal pairs soft vocals with crackling, lo-fi-esque effects to produce a raft of feeling on this cleverly crafted summer heater.

'Confused' is out 5th August via Dansu Discs. Pre-order here and check out 'Pain (All I Want)' below.
