Premiere: Footshooter ‘Juno Café’

Footshooter blends the sounds of South London jazz with buoyant house grooves on his debut album for Astral Black. Hear ‘Juno Café’ now

London’s Footshooter will release his debut album, ‘Southside Hymns’, via Astral Black next month.

Following previous appearances on labels such as Rhythm Section International and Dance Regular, the producer blends the sounds of South London’s bubbling jazz scene with buoyant house grooves across nine tracks. The album features a range of collaborators, including vocalists MA.MOYO, Natty Wylah and Albertina and instrumentalists Wilf Petherbridge, Isobel Risk, Ebyan Rezguli and James Mollison. The artwork for ‘Southside Hymns’ comes from NTS resident and illustrator Anu

‘Southside Hymns’ is a tribute to community, and the spaces that help foster them. Two tracks from the album are named after these spaces: the sadly missed Passing Clouds, and South London club space, Juno Café. You can hear the latter, an irresistibly bouncy house cut featuring Ezra Collective saxophonist James Mollison, below.

‘Southside Hymns’ will be released on 15th October. Pre-order it via Astral Black’s Bandcamp.
