Premiere: Ehua ‘New Moon’

femme culture’s Ehua steps up with her debut single, ‘New Moon’. An atmospheric and percussive house cut, this one is perfect for home listening and dancefloor space-outs...

We’re massive fans of London’s femme culture here in DJ Mag HQ. Co-founded by recent Fresh Kicks selector Elkka and Ludo Guerrieri, the collective have been championing female-identifying talent and promoting equal opportunities across all formats since launching in 2016.

From hosting club nights and art exhibitions to releasing killer tracks through the record label, the collective have been rising rapidly in the UK scene. For International Women's Day and the HeForShe Arts Week, for instance, they compiled a compilation which brought together music from the likes of Anastasia Kristensen, Ariel Zetina and Tess. DJ Mag were lucky enough to premiere a track on the comp from the incredible Octo Octa.

Next up on the label is Ehua, who will release her debut EP in November. Promising a four-track selection that veers from gqom to house and back again, it’s safe to say we’re pretty hyped.

‘New Moon’ is the second track we’ve heard from Ehua, whose track ‘Tiger’ featured on the HeForShe compilation. ‘New Moon’ follows a similar percussive trail, but takes an atmospheric turn with its reverberating, short vocal chop and lush, wavey synths. Check it out below.

Keep your ears open for Ehua’s debut in November and keep up to date with all things femme culture here. Find Ehua on Soundcloud.
