Artists of Indian heritage come together on new compilation for COVID-19 relief: Listen

Berlin-based DJ Pooja B has curated the comp, which features tracks from Nikki Nair, Satya Hinduja, PKO, Low Volume and more

Artists and producers of Indian heritage have come together on a new compilation, raising funds for various charities providing COVID-19 relief throughout the country.

Curated by Berlin-based techno DJ and producer Pooja B, the 11-track compilation, titled ‘We The People’, features contributions from the likes of Nikki Nair, Decoder, Satya Hinduja, PKO, Stof, Snad, Low Volume and more. With styles spanning from house and techno to ambient and experimental pop, you can listen to the comp below, and purchase it via Bandcamp.

Speaking about the release, Pooja B said: "It's not been easy for many of us from India to sit in our privileged position, while friends and family are in the midst of this horrible second wave of the pandemic. I put together this compilation as music is the best way we as artists can urgently amplify and support India's desperate need for help, whilst being far away."

All proceeds from ‘We The People’ will go toward charities working to provide oxygen, medicine and hospital beds to those in need in India, as well as providing direct support to those affected by COVID-19. You can see the full list of charities supported by the comp below, along with links to their websites.

This weekend, London collective Daytimers will host their first live event in support of the ongoing COVID-19 relief effort in India. An all-South Asian line-up of DJs will play at London's Colour Factory on May 23rd, with all proceeds from ticket sales and donations to be divided between the Hemkunt Foundation and India's Trans Queer Hijra Intersex community.
