In keeping with their radiant DJ sets, which explore the cosmic corners of rave music with a lightness of step, the London artists dish up solo cuts that pop with colour and euphoric NRG here. LUXE’s ‘Dance Enchantress’ bounces on a proggy house beat; an irresistible bass hook and glittery vintage synth blasts lend it a beaming, anthemic feel.
Angel D’lite’s ‘Cloud 69’ has a more melancholic vibe at first – is that a reversed Enya sample? – before nimble think breaks, sparkling trance arps and a distant, hoovering bassline move things into a sweet, blissed-out mode. It’s the sort of track that lands like a gift at the end of a long night on the dancefloor – the sort of gem that lingers in the soul long after you’ve stepped out into the morning sun.
Both producers remix the other’s tune too, while more reworks come from FAFF, Baraka, Local Group and Mabel. From smoke-drenched trip-hop to Goa trance, techno and speed garage, all zones are considered here – whatever dancefloor you’re dealing with, there’ll be something in this suite to do the trick.
